A true advocate of local sports, award-winning broadcaster Doug Logan became one of the most popular TV sports anchors and play-by play announcers in Syracuse history.

 

For 19 years, Logan served as the play-by-play "Voice of the Orange" for Syracuse University football and basketball on the WSYR New York State Radio Network. Throughout his years as play-by-play announcer, Logan called 1,000 games, including 12 bowl games, 17 NCAA Tournaments, 2 Final Fours, 5 National Invitation Tournaments and 3 NIT championship games.

 

Logan worked 18 years as Sports Director of WSYR-TV, serving as Sports Anchor for the 5:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. newscasts. During his broadcasting career, Logan won awards from the Associated Press, UPI, New York State Broadcasters Association and the Syracuse Press Club.

 

Logan is the Director of Time Warner Cable Sports in Syracuse and oversees the programming, operations and advertising sales for Time Warner's Sports Channel which currently serves 620,000 cable subscribers throughout Central and Northern New York, as well as the Southern Tier. Logan has been instrumental in bringing local athletic events to television, including high school games, on Time Warner.

 

Logan has also received many awards and much recognition for his dedication to his community and continues to serve as Honorary Chairperson, Master of Ceremonies or Guest Speaker for countless non-profit groups in Central New York, helping to raise millions of dollars for charity.
