The Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame is a not-for-profit corporation established in 1987 as a tribute to the men and women whose achievements in the world of sports have made Syracuse synonymous with athletic success and brought special honor to our community.

 

Since it's inception, the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame has honored over 241 individuals at our annual banquet. Plaques for each inductee are on permanent display at Driver's Village in Cicero.

 

The 35 member board are all unpaid volunteers. The modest costs (postage, supplies, etc.) and inductee awards are financed by individual donations and business sponsors.

 

We are always in need of funding to keep our programs, activities, and events effective and moving forward. If you operate a business in the Greater Syracuse area or one that is associated with sporting activities, a sponsor relationship with the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame would be to your benefit. To associate yourself with GSSHOF in helping us continue to give recognition and award to Syracuse area teams and athletes shed a good light on you and your business and will be rewarded with dedicated patronage many times over.

 

We also accept donations from individuals in any amount, no matter what your budget. We sincerely appreciate any and all support.

DONATIONS

 

The Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame is a registered  501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization (Federal EIN # 22-2933528). Currently, all revenue comes from bequests and donations. The GSSHOF would be grateful for your pledge in any amount. We have also established funds for each individual inductee for honorariums and remembrances (see below). The deductibility of donations is subject to confirmation by the donor's tax advisor.

The outstanding sports memorabilia collection at the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame has been acquired through the generosity of sports fans, researchers, teams, players and Hall of Famers.
