Enshrined 2015
As the long-time Fayetteville-Manlius High School Boys and Girls Cross-Country Coach, Bill Aris guided the F-M girls to eight national championships in nine years, from 2006 through 2017 (FM finished second in 2013), along with 12 consecutive state championships (2006 through 2017). He coached F-M boys to seven state titles and in 2014, his boys and girls teams became the first high school to win the boys and girls title in the same year. He was named 2014 National and New York State Cross Country Coach of the Year, and was dubbed the “Lombardi of Team Running” by the Wall Street Journal. He is a proponent of the “Stotan method”-- combining philosophy with eating, sleeping, training and devotion to teammates.
