Barbara Adams Henderson was a Nottingham grad who became the Senior Associate Director of Athletics at Syracuse University; team administrator at SU for 7 sports; and was responsible for the operation of Manley Field House for over 20 years. She served on countless SU, Big East, and NCAA committees, including NCAA Men’s Gymnastics and Field Hockey Committee, Women’s National Basketball Championship Committee, and SU’s NCAA Certification Committee. She also served on SU’s R.A.P.E. Center Advisory Committee, and the Board of Directors for the Syracuse Sports Corporation (SSC) and the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame. Barbara is an Orange Plus Hall of Famer and recipient of Syracuse Women in Business Award and NYS Public High School Athletic Association Section III Service Award. The SSC instituted the Barbara Henderson Female Team Award for their Believe to Achieve recognition program.
